Welcome to Lucy’s Art Studio!

I’m Lucy van Ligten, and I believe that art is for everyone. Whether you are joining me online or stepping into my studio here in Coombabah for a face-to-face class, my goal is to help you unlock your inner creativity in a relaxed, supportive environment.

My own art practice is fueled by experimentation, color, and texture. One of my absolute favorite mediums to share is Gelli plate printing—a fantastic, hands-on monoprinting process that uses flexible gelatin-like plates. It is deeply intuitive, completely addictive, and requires zero traditional drawing experience. From custom portrait commissions and pet memorials to vibrant abstract prints, I love exploring what’s possible with paint and paper. Had such a great day! We arrived to the perfect cup of coffee, surrounded by Lucy’s beautiful artwork. In this hands-on workshop, we learnt about layering, colour, and texture, and came home with six of our own paintings. Already booked another class — 10/10, loved it!
